Principal Verification Engineer [Department Code 1001]

Description:

This position will be responsible for the functional verification of MEMS based sensor SOC for variety of cutting edge applications such as gaming, handsets, and navigation. Simulating these devices requires understanding and interest in working at the system level, utilizing knowledge in the area of hardware design, firmware design, serial interfaces, and scripting to verify functionality and performance.

Deliverables include writing behavioral reference models, protocol checkers, test writing, debugging designs, and running regressions and coverage. You will work closely with design and firmware engineers in identifying and writing chip-level testcases and debugging test failures, with emphasis on verification of the SOC logic and host interface.

The successful candidate will have extensive verification experience on a variety of digital blocks such as processors, memories, memory management, FIFOs, arbitration logic, and serial interfaces. Should have a proven ability to understand the micro-architecture of an IC, develop high level behavioral models, work across the digital and firmware domains, and act as the verification lead for a complete IC project.

Requirements:

  • ASIC verification focus. Must have “verification” experience and a solid understanding of Verilog based RTL design
  • Experience in defining and implementing test plans to verify subsystem, and chip level functionality in a complex SOC environment with mixed signal content
  • Demonstrated ability to create test-bench and test cases to ensure adequate feature and code coverage, and to help resolve test failures
  • Strong skills in creating reusable verification environments to be used across multiple projects
  • Experience in I2C, SPI, DMA and interrupt architecture, low power architecture, and clock domain crossing
  • Staff : Minimum 7 years experience, Principal: Minimum 10 years experience
  • BS/MS in EE or equivalent field

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of digital verification and design
  • Strong knowledge of verification methodologies and tools
  • Experience in embedded firmware (C/C++), low level drivers and silicon bring-up
  • Ability to guide a team in full chip RTL verification to tapeout release
